Grandmas beetroot salad (Swedish)
This was a staple at my grandma’s smörgåsbord or julbord. It is simple to make and utterly delicious.
- 600g – 800g tinned beetroot, drained
- 2 apples finely chopped
- 1 red onion finely chopped
- 100ml mayo
- 100ml creme fresh
- 2 tablespoons of sweet mustard (I didn’t have any so I used dijon mustard and a teaspoon of sugar) or more to taste
- Salt & pepper
Mix the liquids and spices to taste, add veggies and fruit. Eat right away or prepare in advance to impress your guests with this wonderful dish.
